		<description>Dear student contact:

I am currently booking my Fall 2010 Tour dates for speaking to Law schools and for co-sponsored community multimedia talks followed by an open mic: Lawyer Charged with Committing Poetry. That talk uses various slam poems and excerpts from my award winning film Committing Poetry in Times of War coupled with a discussion on peace, free speech and using creativity to make social change.

The talk for the law school can be on various topics. I recently spoke to NLG chapters at UCLA, Villanova, Madison, Loyola, U of Washington, Temple, Oregon and NYU. I do a multimedia presentation on &quot;Lawyering for Human Rights in the 21st Century: Journey from Soweto to Pyongyang&quot; or a talk on &quot;Seeking Truth and Reconciliation in Korea: What peace in Korea means to you.&quot; Other topics can be viewed on my site. Please visit my website at www.ubuntuworks.com &amp; my page on Guest lecturing (http://www.ubuntuworks.com/ubuntuworks/Guest_Lectures.html).

I have been in the Guild for 30 years and the talk can inspire chapters and help with organizing. I draw upon my practical experience in setting up a practice out of law school and in integrating exciting international work into a practice. I worked in South Africa with the Truth and Reconciliation commission and on the constitution for the new South Africa. I have also worked with Japanese lawyers in Japan on Article 9 protection and human dignity in the workplace. Through various trips to North and South Korea and Washington DC I am working for a peace agreement in Korea and an end to the war.

My CV is attached to share with anyone you might work with or to assist in receiving institution funds. I ask for schools to put something toward airfare or place to stay, and the honorarium/speakers fee is on a sliding scale. Sometimes various groups share the expenses and I can speak on main campus in Asian Studies Departments or at community centers. If you’re interested we can make it work and we can talk about ways schools have made it happen if funds are limited. All fees and funds go to the peacemaking work expenses. I can only take on a limited number of schools so let me know as soon as possible.

I also have template flyers that I help you complete like the one attached and can generate some further interest in the area based upon my connections. Please let me know if you are interested.

If you are a 3L please share this with the chapter or any students who will be at the school next year.
